Vote for a flourishing Portland

I'm running for Portland City Council, District 4, because this city has shaped my life for three decades. Please join me and together we will shape the future.

I moved to southwest Portland in 1997 to lead a land conservation organization, drawn by the forested hills and trails of the west side and a mission to protect the natural beauty. What started as a job became my passion and my home. In the years since, I've built a career as a small business owner, worked as a professional leadership coach, and stayed involved as a school and community volunteer and historic preservationist as well as a member of the Oregon State Bar. I'm a commercial landlord and take seriously what that responsibility means to small business tenants and the surrounding community.

That range of experience — building organizations, running a business, coaching leaders through change, staying rooted in one neighborhood for 30 years — is what I bring to council. I'm a newcomer to elected office, but not to this city's work.

Why am I running?

How I'll show up.

If elected, I'll spend real time in the district — not just at events, but in the daily work of listening to what's going on with our neighbors. I want District 4 to know its councilor, at the same time, building a Portland that works for the whole city, not just one district.

I bring hard work, strong listening skills, and the ability to stay steady in disagreement rather than walk away from it. I've spent 30 years in Portland through good cycles and hard ones, and I believe in this city's capacity to rebuild itself into something more equitable and more livable — for the people here now, and for the generations who'll want to stay.
